Sofia Coppola
It’s Monday and we are totally crushing on director Sofia Coppola who recently won Best Director for The Beguiled at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. We have always loved Sofia since she directed Marie Antoinette and Lost in Translation. She has a way of showcasing elite women with insane artistry that draws you in the whole movie, so its not totally surprising that we LOVED The Beguiled.
Sofia has two daughters, Romy and Cosmia, who were so proud of their mom when she won the Best Director Award in Cannes this year. She was the hit of their classrooms. Her daughters were so proud of her. She finds a way to incorporate them into being away. Her husband brought their daughters to visit Sofia on set while she was editing so they understood what their mom does for work. Now that the film is out, Sofia is excited to change gears and focus on motherhood until her next project comes and she takes that break from work seriously. Both Sofia Coppola and Nicole Kidman were very present for the press events surrounding their movie The Beguiled but were absent from the Cannes Film Festival Awards Ceremony because they had already left to go home to their children. We aren’t sure there is such thing as a true work/life balance but we commend both of these working mamas for striving to find the work/life balance in their respective lives.
