I once told Erin that the magic word is always Tacos. Wanna get me out of the house? Tacos. Need me to do something? Offer me Tacos. I’m serious guys and I’m pretty sure most of you can agree. Taco tuesday has made Tuesday one of my favorite days of the week. The other magic word? Margarita. It’s my go-to cocktail and it goes with my go-to food. What about you guys? Seriously if any of my kids said pretty pretty please and tacos I wouldn’t be able to say no. Luckily they haven’t figured that out yet.
This summer though, I’m ready to put a fruity and fizzy twist on the classic margarita. And don’t worry it involves NO blending of any kind. These yummy margarita spritzers are the perfect light drink for a backyard brunch, a crafternoon, or a mom date (you know the kind I’m talking about ladies!). So grab a pitcher and lets get mixing!

Yummy Margarita Spritzers

Ingredients:
Tequila – whatever brand you like. I’m partial to Sauza 901 because Justin Timberlake and that is also the Memphis area code where I grew up.
Lemon Lime Soda – 12 oz
Pineapple Juice
Your favorite classic margarita mix – I use Trader Joes but Margaritaville is a close second
1 grapefruit cut into slices
2 limes sliced and a few more for garnish
Salt for garnish

In a large pitcher, mix the 2 cups of margarita mix with 1.5 cups of tequila. Pour in 1/4 cup of pineapple juice and 12 oz of lemon lime soda. Top with slices of grapefruit and lime. I chose to put the ice in the separate glasses because I really hate pouring ice from a pitcher and I didn’t want the mix to get watered down.

And you’re done. Grab some lime wedges and salt and give your glass a nice salty rim to compliment the sweetness of your spritzer!
