When My Little Pony came out earlier this year, I think I was more excited about than my son. My Little Pony is such a throwback to my childhood that the little girl in me could not be more excited about the resurgence of such an important part of my play as a kid. This movie truly portrays that good trumps evil but I also really loved that it had an old school animation feel which for other millennial moms out there..really hit that childhood nostalgia.
One of the things that I love the most about the this movie is that the themes could not be more needed in our world. The two themes really come across are:
- Friendship is MAGIC
- BE AWESOME …it’s up to YOU

So what is the movie really about:
Best friends Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Rarity team up in their most epic adventure yet. When a dark force threatens Ponyville, the Mane 6 go on a journey beyond Equestria to save their beloved home and they meet new friends and exciting challenges along the way. Not to spoil the movie, but Sia as a pony is pretty epic.
- Digital & DVD/Blu-Ray Release Party
- Me and my mini
- Tara Strong
To celebrate My Little Pony becoming available on streaming devices on Dec 19th and DVD/Blu-Ray on Jan 9th, my little family and I headed over to Pasadena for a fun morning interviewing Tara Strong, the voice of Twilight, and making our own custom cupcakes at Duff’s Cakemix.
My little guy was completely spoiled by Lionsgate Home Entertainment which treated all the kids to a tea party, hair styling and ornament making. We all left ready to re-watch My Little Pony and with happy sugar-filled bellies.
