American Cancer Society Fight Back! 5K Run & Walk

The resort will sponsor Fight Back! 5k Run & Walk, taking place on September 22nd at Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center. Following the walk, participants can enjoy activities, including bingo, entertainment, a beer and wine garden and more!

Quack for a Cure

On September 27th, Harrah’s Resort Southern California will hold its annual Quack for a Cure duck race in support of American Cancer Society’s Fight Back 5K in Valley Center. Numbered rubber duckies will float down the resort’s Lazy River as teammates place bets on the winning duck ($5 for 1 duck, $10 for 3). Those who bet on the first 15 ducks to cross the finish line will be awarded fantastic prizes!

Inland Empire Race for the Cure

On October 14, Harrah’s Resort Southern California will join in the fight against Breast Cancer by participating in Race for the Cure, an annual event that raises funds for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Battle of the Bras

Harrah’s Resort SoCal teammates will form smaller groups to decorate bras set to be displayed in the resort lobby. Guests and other teammates will have the chance to vote on their choice of winners with categories including showstopper, best department representation, most creative, scariest and best display of breast cancer awareness.

October Slot + Blackjack Tournaments Benefiting Michelle’s Place

Every Wednesday in October, buy-ins for slot and blackjack tournaments will benefit Michelle’s Place. 10k Blackjack on October 3 from 3pm – 7pm; 10K Slot Tournament on October 10, 17, 24, 31 from 4pm – 7pm.

Michelle’s Place All-in 4 Pink Spa Day

Harrah’s Resort Southern California will host a Spa day of relaxation and pampering for Michelle’s Place and Harrah’s Resort SoCal teammate survivors on October 19 from 3pm – 6pm. Guests will partake in a choice of one 25 minute service/treatment; Massage, Facial or Manicure. Guests can also enjoy music from a harpist player, hor d’oeuvres and a raffle for spa themed gift baskets. Additionally, each guest will receive a box of chocolate covered strawberries for a sweet end to their spa day.

Breast cancer occurs when cells divide and grow without their normal control.
Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) occurs when the abnormal cells grow inside the milk ducts, but have not spread to nearby tissue. DCIS is a non-invasive breast cancer.
Invasive breast cancer occurs when cancer cells spread to nearby tissue or other parts of the body.
Invasive breast cancer that spreads to other parts of the body is called metastatic breast cancer.
The warning signs of breast cancer are not the same for everyone.
The most common signs are a change in the look or feel of the breast, a change in the look or feel of the nipple and nipple discharge.
Other conditions and benign changes can occur in the breast.
Some increase the risk of breast cancer and others do not.
