As a mom, I would like to think that I am a conossieur of kids movies. I have pretty much watched every single movie that has come out at least once in the last 6 years. I generally like most of the movies because they are heartwarming, sweet and my kiddo is truly enjoying it. The latest Lionsgate hit, Leap movie has to be one of my favorites that I have seen.

The Leap movie about a sweet, determined orphan named Felicie (voiced by Elle Fanning) who dreams of escaping the orphanage to dance in the Grand Opera House. Her best friend Victor (Dane DeHaan) is always coming up with new ways for them to escape to Paris but they always get caught until one night when they outsmart the headmaster. They wake up in Paris and see the Grand Opera House. They make a bet to see who can make their dreams come true first. A whole slew of cute trials and tribulations confront them as they try to make their dreams come true. At the end they both triumph.
Why do I love this movie?
- The theme: Never give up on your dreams
- There were no “scary” parts of the movie
- There was no questionable language for kids of any age
- It was well written and the songs were so catchy
I was initially under the impression that the movie would be geared for girls; however after watching it, it is truly gender neutral. The main characters are a young boy Victor and a young girl Felicie. It is truly a story based on their adventures to accomplish their dreams. It will remind you of being a young kid, looking at the world thinking that there were endless possibilities. This movie made the young dancer in me smile and remind myself that I am not too old to dream still. I still have dreams and that there is no reason I should not be chasing after them still.

Such a FUN Home Entertainment release party complete with donations to the Footloose Foundation
Not only were we lucky enough to go to the premiere this summer, we also celebrated earlier in the week with Lionsgate for the DVD release. This is a must stream movie!
