On February 9th, brace yourselves because your childhood favorite book series comes to life on the silver screen with a little added zest. The original Tale of Peter Rabbit is classic book series we all read as kids by Beatrix Potter. The Tale of Peter Rabbit was first published by Frederick Warne in 1902 and has remained Beatrix Potter’s most popular and well-loved tale over the past century plus. It tells the story of a very mischievous rabbit, Peter, and the trouble he encounters in Mr McGregor’s vegetable garden! The Millennial Mamas had a blast getting to know the cast and characters a little but more at the press junket and world premiere.

Los Angeles – February 02, 2018: Director Will Gluck, Margot Robbie, James Corden, Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson and Elizabeth Debicki celebrate Blue Jacket at Junket Photo Call for Columbia Pictures’ PETER RABBIT at The London Hotel West Hollywood
What I loved about the move of Peter Rabbit from literary classic to silver screen is that the original story remains in the beginning of the movie. From there, the director Will Gluck brings in an animal house aspect full of cheeky kid humor accompanied by the beautiful computer generated imagery (CGI) of most of the movies characters except the Mr. Thomas McGregor and Bea played by Dohmnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne respectively.
Some of the highlights of the press junket inlcude:
- James Corden, voice of Peter Rabbit, stating that he enjoyed coming to work in his pajamas
- Margot Robbie, voice of Flopsy, sharing that she loves playing characters that say and do things she will would never do in real life
The film truly brings your visions of how you imagined Peter Rabbit to life in a fun, light-hearted way. From James Corden’s 6 year old son’s perspective, the film is about everyone making mistakes, there are mistakes that we don’t even know about that will be coming our way. It is not about making mistakes, it is about how you react to making mistakes and the person you are after making that mistake. I think that if every kid could walk away picking up that theme, it would be a beautiful takeaway.

This film is a fun 2 hour outing for anyone 2 to 98 years old. Out in theaters, Friday February 9th!
