We fell in love with Trolls as soon as we saw the trailer. The music was so fun and catchy and let’s face it…Poppy and Branch are just the cutest. How can you not fall in love with them??? As soon as we walked out of the movie theater, I got on my phone and started looking for the release of the sequel. Rumor is that second movie will be out in a year or so, but in the mean time a new Netflix Original Series: Trolls the Beat Goes On will be available on January 19th. This series is done by Dreamworks Animation and provides a seamless transition from between the story line from Trolls (the original feature film) 1 and 2 when it releases.

Some cool facts about the new series are:
- It’s done in 2d animation
- There are 17,000 drawings per episode
- Some of the “instrumental” sounds are actually singers
- The music creates a distinct identity for the show
- Characters express themselves via song and dance

One of the many things I loved about previewing this new series is the overwhelming theme about being kind, positivity and optimism. The first three episodes which I able to see really showcased joy and celebration. I mean is there anything cuter than trolls farting glitter??? That alone will make you smile and giggle not to mention your child. I love that the show shows how the Bergens and Trolls can live happily together despite how grossly different they are.
One of my favorite lines of the first episode was “Halt in the name of gratitude!” This show has such catchy pop-esque music, such beautiful lessons in each episode it is almost impossible not to sit down with your child and truly Netflix and Chill. Come January 19th, you can bet one we will be doing just that.
